Abstract
Irresponsible as well as responsible actions of business leaders can considerably affect the organization as a whole as well as stakeholders. In my leadership research, irresponsible leader behavior is defined as intentional behavior of managers which puts stakeholders at risk or harm (often, but not always, for personal gain) and, conversely, responsible behavior as refraining from activities which put stakeholders at risk or harm. I aim to empirically test antecedents and factors affecting leadership behavior considering three levels of influence: individual, organizational and situational. A multi-method approach is proposed to investigate the main as well as the interaction effects.
