Abstract
The so-called Banana dispute comprises a series of rulings that were rendered, since the early 1990s, by panels established in the framework of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT 1947) and the World Trade Organization (WTO), by the WTO Appellate Body, by the European Court of Justice and several domestic, particularly German, tribunals. Many of these rulings constitute landmark judgments in the fields of WTO and EU law. This contribution concentrates on issues of WTO law.
