Abstract (English)

In the course of their "Call for Ideas: Data Analytics in Industrial Automation Environments" Siemens asked the Institute for Service Marketing and Tourism and the Institute for Information Business to study possible starting points for a joint collaboration project between Siemens and the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU) in the area of Data Protection and Data Integration. It roots in Siemens 2018 “Call for Ideas: Data Analytics in Industrial Automation Environments” and aims at topics of Smart Sales, Customer Analytics and Smart Cities in the light of GDPR with a particular focus on privacy, data protection, protection of Intellectual property rights for such protection that still enable “fishing in the ponds of available data” in a big enterprise. We propose multi-disciplinary research in different areas, such as in enabling technologies (such as (i) anonymization techniques and (ii) knowledge graphs augmented with automated policy management) but also (iii) the investigation of legal boundaries and (iv) Smart Sales and Marketing Analytics.
