Abstract (German)

Im Rahmen des derzeit von mehr als 30 Universitäten getragenen weltweiten Forschungsverbunds CRANET werden seit 1989 regelmäßig Informationen über die Personalarbeit im öffentlichen und privaten Bereich erhoben. Ziel dieser Untersuchung ist die Ermittlung von jeweils aktuellen Standards sowie zeitlichen Trends im internationalen Personalmanagement. Mittlerweile nach 6 Befragungsrunden liegen aus 34 europäischen und außereuropäischen Ländern Informationen von rund 30.000 Unternehmen mit mehr als 200 Beschäftigten vor, was weltweit die größte derartige Datenbasis darstellt. Die große internationale Stichprobe ermöglicht fundierte Einblicke in einen immer wichtiger werdenden Bereich des Managements, der sowohl für Praktiker als auch für Wissenschafter gleichermaßen interessant ist.


Abstract (English)

CRANET is an established group of more than 30 business schools and academic institutions, all collaborating since 1989 to provide information on in public and private companies. The main goal of this porject is the identification of current standards as well as trends in human resource management practices across the world. At this point after 6 survey rounds data from about 30.000 companies with more than 200 employees in 34 countries is available. With this data base CRANET provides a coherent and accurate picture of international and comparative HRM and is now an established and unique resource for policy makers, academic researchers, or organisations seeking an up-to-date overview of the ever-changing face of management across the globe.
