Abstract (German)
Die Entwicklung einer domainspezifischen Suchmaschine zur Analyse des Suchverhaltens von Internetbesuchern mit Interesse für den Städtetourismus
Abstract (English)
The development of a domain-specific search engine for analyzing information search behaviour of Internet users when they plan a city break in Europe is the objective of this project. In collaboration with European Cities Tourism a pan-European portal was introduced in 2002 (see visiteuropeancities.info). Various inspirational features for supporting the decision making process of visitors of the portal are tested. Benchmarking approaches using unobstrusive measures based on the responses of portal users are developed. The project is supported by more than 40 European city tourism offices who provide a back-link from their homepage.
