 ey Fields of Expertise. Key Fields of Expertise are cross-departmental\, a
 gile research areas in which WU has a strong track record and can deliver 
 internationally recognized excellence. They highlight\, establish\, and co
 nsolidate strong cross-departmental research areas\, replacing the previou
 s “Research Highlights” system.<br><br>\nThe Key Fields of Expertise a
 re driven by a bottom-up process and form part of a university-wide effort
  to define WU’s research strengths. In terms of their content\, Key Fiel
 ds of Expertise are characterized by topicality and high quality\, as demo
 nstrated by publication output and expertise in attracting third-party fun
 ding. They are also broadly rooted in WU’s research activities.<br>
